What you can do here

How each one works

How each one works

Nine tools and the steps for each. Every button named below is a button on the page it sends you to.

My wishlist

  1. Find something you want and press the bookmark on it. The picker asks which list; choose your own.
  2. Open the list and press Share. That turns the link on and shows it, ready to send to whoever is asking what you want.
  3. They open the link and mark what they are getting. You are never shown that anything has been marked.

A list for someone else

  1. Press New list, choose "For someone else" and name the person. This card opens that form already on that setting.
  2. Save things to it as you come across them, exactly as you would to any other list.
  3. Nothing on it can be claimed and nobody else can see it, so change your mind as often as you like.

Buy together

  1. Press New list, choose "Together, for someone", and name the person it is for.
  2. Add each co-giver by email. A viewer can look; an editor can add and remove things.
  3. Choose together. If the person has a wishlist of their own, that is where you say what you are getting, so two of you never buy the same thing.

Hand a list over

  1. Open the list and send them the "Ask them what they want" link, so there is an account the list can go to.
  2. Once they have used it, press Hand over and type the email they signed up with.
  3. Confirm, and the list is theirs: they can share it, and other people can claim from it.

Secret Friend

  1. Press Start a group and give it a name, roughly what everyone should spend, and the date you are exchanging.
  2. Send the invite link to everyone. They join with a name and an email, no account needed, and can name anyone they should not draw.
  3. Once everybody is in, press Do the draw. Each person gets one email naming one person: theirs.

A registry

  1. Open your own wishlist and press Registry.
  2. Pick the occasion and the date, and add a delivery address if people should be posting things to you.
  3. Share it as you would any list. It behaves like one: people claim, and you are never told what.

How well do they know you?

  1. Open your list and press Share.
  2. Press Quiz, then "Make a quiz from this list".
  3. Send the quiz link. Five rounds of four things, one go each.

Suggestions

  1. Share your wishlist. A suggestion can only come from somebody holding the link.
  2. When one arrives it waits at the top of the list, with the name of whoever sent it.
  3. Press "Add it" and it joins the list, or "No thanks" and it goes. Nothing lands on the list before you decide.

Gift Whisperer

  1. Answer six short questions about them: who they are, what they are into, what you want to spend, anything to avoid.
  2. Four ideas come back, each with the reason it was chosen. Ask for something else and what you rejected is never offered again.
  3. Save the good ones straight onto a list for that person.

One rule runs through all of it: the person a list is for never learns what has been claimed. Not who, not how many, not that anything has.
